FAT TONGUE

A gig theatre pop-rock musical exploring identity, healing through music and growing up in the Midlands, Fat Tongue follows a lonely teenager who, after an accident at school, is left with a debilitating stammer. Isolated from their peers, they discover a passion for singing and writing music. 

 

Can they become the universe's greatest Rock Star? 

 

The piece is semi-autobiographical, and is written and performed by Dylan Wynford and their band.

CREATIVES

Dylan Wynford is a non-binary creative from the Midlands who trained at Mountview. Their first musical Bright Young Things was performed and showcased at The Other Palace in 2017. They have also written and developed two further productions – The Throwaways at The Other Palace alongside Lambert Jackson Productions, and 111 Dates and an Apocalypse with Iris Theatre.

 

Dylan composed the music for The Lost Ones alongside SEVAN and Tania Azevedo, which was showcased at BEAM in 2018 and workshopped at the Bush Theatre. As an actor, they have worked on a range of new musicals, including originating the parts of Barry Bray in Sing Street by Enda Walsh, John Carney and Gary Clark, and Larry Walters in 42 Balloons by Jack Godfrey.
